LifeAct Honors Two Youth Advisory Board Members with Annual Scholarship
Each year, LifeAct honors two graduating seniors who have participated on LifeAct’s Youth Advisory Board with a $1500 scholarship. Our Class of 2022 recipients have shown outstanding dedication, participation and advocacy for LifeAct’s mission. LifeAct’s Youth Advisory Board Scholarship program has been established through the generosity and vision of Edda and Terry Owen with their endowment gift.
Ella Spremulli, a 2022 Chagrin Falls High School graduate, will be attending Ohio University and studying Communication Studies at the Honors Tutorial College in the fall. Ella spent many years as an active member of the YAB and would like to expand her mental health advocacy into college. “I am really hoping to make a difference during my next four years at OU, something I have experienced being involved in LifeAct. I am so thankful for everything the program taught me and the people I met through the YAB. I will continue encouraging high schoolers to give their time to LifeAct, as it is such an influential resource to have. I am so excited to be spending my next few years in Athens, and can't wait to exercise my full potential as a student and as a person.”
Henry Newell also recently graduated from Chagrin Falls High School and will be attending Miami University and majoring in marketing at the Farmers Business School in the fall. Henry is hoping to study abroad for one semester and is planning to get his MBA. Henry was a very involved member participating in many fundraising and event activities in the community. “Working with LifeAct and the Youth Advisory Board has been amazing. It’s awesome knowing I have helped people and learned way more about how to help and understand the importance of mental health.”
