LifeAct Announces Sarah Baggott as New Chief Executive Officer

Chagrin Falls, Ohio — LifeAct is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Baggott as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective April 13, 2026.

Baggott brings extensive nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement experience to the organization. Most recently, she served as Director of Development at the Lake County YMCA, where she led strategic fundraising and marketing efforts, strengthened community partnerships, and advanced mission-focused initiatives supporting youth and families across the region.

As CEO, Baggott will lead LifeAct’s continued efforts to prevent youth suicide through education, awareness, and mental health advocacy in schools and communities throughout Northeast Ohio.

“Sarah’s leadership experience, collaborative approach, and passion for youth mental health make her an outstanding choice to lead LifeAct into the future,” said Diane Malarik and Nicholas Hanek, LifeAct Board Co-Chairs. “We are confident she will build on the organization’s strong foundation while helping expand our reach and impact.”

Baggott holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Kent State University and is a recipient of the United Way Emerging Leaders “4 Under 40” award. She is also certified in Mental Health First Aid, reflecting her dedication to supporting mental wellness and suicide prevention efforts.

“I am honored to join LifeAct at such an important time,” said Baggott. “Together with our staff, board, school partners, and community supporters, I look forward to strengthening and expanding LifeAct’s mission so that more young people have access to life-saving mental health education and support.”

Baggott succeeds Steve MacIntyre, who served as CEO since February 2024. During his tenure, MacIntyre strengthened the organization’s annual fund, major gifts, and endowment efforts, guided LifeAct through successful state re-certification as a suicide prevention program provider, and expanded community and business partnerships that positioned the organization for continued growth.

LifeAct expressed gratitude for MacIntyre’s leadership and announced that he will continue serving the organization as a member of its Board of Directors.

Founded in 1991, LifeAct is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing youth suicide through education, training, and outreach programs designed to promote mental wellness and connect young people to support resources.
